I learned to paint from my father, an early California watercolorist and art teacher of the same name, who is known for his landscape paintings of the deserts and mountains of Eastern California near Bishop. I have been painting more-or-less continuously since. I grew up in Bishop, and still maintain a summer home and studio there.
In my Santa Barbara studio I paint mostly birds, based on photographs I’ve recently taken, often at the beach. These days I’m both photographing and painting every week.
I always have paintings for sale at Gallery 113 in Santa Barbara, and usually at some other Santa Barbara venues as well, noted in the current blog posts. I also welcome people to my home studio.
