Bushtit on Sage #2

"Bushtits are usually a collective enterprise with dozens invading a bush and scouring it for insects before quickly moving on," says artist Emil Morhardt. "This one, however, separated itself from the flock momentarily and watched the action from, by Bushtit standards, afar. You could tell that the bird is male judging by its dark eyes." He painted the bird from a low angle showing just the tips of some sage seedpods against a calm blue sky with hints of wispy clouds.
