Racing the Surf

A Sanderling runs along the edge of the surf, head tipped slightly forward, wet sand and a line of foam stretching behind it. Brushed linework defines the crisp scalloping across the back and the fine streaking on the head, while glazing technique renders the wet sand's warm reflected light and the soft band of surf foam along the horizon. Centered on 11" x 14" paper and shipped in a free 11" x 14" mat, but can be trimmed to the 8" x 10" image.
