Working the Tideline

A Black-bellied Plover bends low, bill to the sand, in the middle of pulling up a bit of prey, its long shadow stretching out to one side across an otherwise bare, pale ground. The bird's forward-leaning, business-like posture captures the quick, repetitive rhythm of a plover working the tideline for food. Brushed linework builds the soft mottled pattern across the back and wings, while glazing technique renders the long shadow and simple, sunlit ground. Shipped in an 11” x 14” archival mat ready for framing.
