Caspian Tern Fishing

A Caspian Tern fishing at just the point in the Nestucca River Estuary, Oregon, where the freshwater and saltwater come together. There were dozens of these which I haven't seen there before, notes artist Emil Morhardt. I gathered that these birds, which I often see in groups on the beach in Santa Barbara, moved in to intercept a downriver run of juvenile salmon on their way to the sea.
