Oriole on Yucca

A Hooded Oriole perches on the last flower of a yucca inflorescence which will remain a favored perch for months. The bird's vivid orange-yellow plumage glows against a plain background while a bold black mask and throat patch frame its sharp, watchful eye. Crisp white wing bars cut across the black flight feathers, giving the bird a striking, high-contrast pattern that reads clearly even at a distance.
