Three Northern Shovelers

Three males standing around at the Santa Barbara Bird Refuge waiting for spring, reflecting in the water and on the females they haven't yet attracted that are nearby, ignoring them. They looked good to me; maybe it's their attitude or their lack of personality, but more likely they're just too young to compete with the alpha types already swimming around in pairs.
