Three Teals

A Blue-Winged Teal swims in the foreground, its gray head and crescent-shaped white facial patch catching the light above a densely mottled brown body, with a pale blue wing patch and glossy green speculum just visible along its folded wing. Behind it, two others tip forward to feed, tails up and heads submerged, adding a bit of everyday pond activity to the scene. Brushed linework builds the fine mottled pattern across the body and the sharp facial markings, while glazing technique renders the calm blue water and its warm reflection.
