Young and Ruffled

A young Heermann's Gull stands with feathers slightly ruffled, its mottled gray-brown juvenile plumage and pale orange-and-black bill marking it as a bird not yet in adult dress, a soft yellow reflection pooling beneath its feet. Brushed linework builds the uneven mottling across the back and wings, while glazing renders the wet ground and its warm-toned reflection. Centered on 11" x 14" paper and shipped in a free 11" x 14" mat, but can be trimmed to the 8" x 10" image.
